TCR Italy starts this weekend at Imola

TCR Italy’s promoter ACI Sport can be satisfied with the way the series is growing, with a number of entries that will largely exceed the twenty units for the opening race meeting, at Imola this weekend.

Among the latest entries were José Rodrigues, Ermanno Dionisio, Andrea Larini, Cosimo Barberini, Gabriele Volpato and Cosimo Papi. Rodrigues, who took part last year in TCR Germany, will drive a Honda Civic FK2 run by Target Competition, Dionisio and Larini will compete for the DSG trophy at the wheel of an Audi RS3 LMS and a SEAT León both entered by Pit Lane Competizioni, Barberini will share with Massimiliano Chini the Nos-Ermete Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI, while Papi and Volpato will alternate at the wheel of a SEAT León DSG for DB Racing.
Daniele Cappellari too announced that he will join the series fro the second event at Le Castellet in a Volkswagen Golf GTI run by its own CRC team; he will also take part in the Monza round of the TCR Europe Series.
Finally the SEAT Motorsport Italia outfit will campaign two cars, one León DSG for Massimiliano Gagliano and one new Cupra TCR for 2003 Italian Touring Car champion Salvatore Tavano and Matteo Greco, the reigning champion of the SEAT Cupra Cup.
